Our Teams

    Adult Community Rowing

    Support the organization and communication of our Adult Community Rowing program, and warmly welcome rowers as they join the community.

    Boat Building

    Oversees our hands-on boatbuilding project, bringing participants, volunteers, and youth together to create seaworthy wooden boats from the keel up.

    Coxswains

    Trains and manages coxswains who steer the boats, arrive early to prepare docks and boats, and support about 15 rows per week during our active 6-month season.

    Fundraising

    Helps plan and support fundraising initiatives and events, building community support and sustaining programs and projects.

    Race Training

    Manages the Race Training Program, welcoming adult rowers of all fitness levels and emphasizing camaraderie, skill development, and regional racing opportunities.

    Scheduling

    Handles row scheduling in Sign-Up Genius, coordinating weekly rowing schedules, private rows, and coxswain assignments.

    Special Events

    Plans and / or leads special seasonal rows—including the July 4th Row, Moonlight Rows, the “Head of Westport,” and “Row to the Let”—creating memorable highlights throughout the rowing season.

    Special Rows

    Hosts special rows—including ROW (Recovery on the Water), a supportive program for those affected by cancer—creating space for compassion, community, and connection.

    Westport River Regatta

    Coordinates every step of the annual Regatta—from logistics, registration, sponsorships, swag, food, venue planning, to timing, music, prizes, as well as post-event follow-up.

    Youth Rowing Program

    In partnership with Westport Recreation, this summer program for students entering grades 6–11 teaches rowing, navigation, water safety, coxing, and teamwork—building confidence, leadership, and lasting community ties.
