I want to row. How do I make that happen?
Please email Barbara Pontolilo at newrowers@dharmavoyage.org to inquire about becoming a new member of Dharma Voyage’s Adult Community Rowing.
1) Forms: Please fill out a current registration form; sign the required Waiver and Liability Release; Photo and Publicity Consent; and Health Emergency Information and Consent for Medical Assistance forms. The forms can be downloaded and printed by clicking the button below. The completed forms can be emailed or mailed to Barbara Pontolilo, the Coordinator for New Rowers.
2) Orientation: Every year in April, Dharma Voyage traditionally holds group orientation sessions at the Westport Free Public Library. This has been an informative and valuable experience for our new rowers to get to know our rowing leadership team, as well as answer any questions.
3) Instructional Row: Following the new rowers’ orientation, you will be scheduled for a mandatory, instructional rowing session that takes place at Hix Bridge Landing. The sign ups for the dates and times will be reviewed at the orientation meeting, and you will have the opportunity to sign up at that time. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early for your instructional row and check in.
4) Become a Member: After completing your instructional row, if you are interested in joining the rowing program, a membership fee of $240 will be requested. Please write a check or pay online on the Dharma Voyage website. Payment entitles you to sign up for Adult Community Rowing sessions and Special Event Rows from April / May through to November.
5) Sign Up Genius (SUG): Your name will be added to the Dharma Voyage Membership List that will allow you to sign up for rows on SUG.
NOTE: Orientation for this year has taken place, but spots might still be available to sign up for an introductory row with an experienced coxswain. Please email Barbara Pontolilo at newrowers@dharmavoyage.org to inquire about late registration.
